Cream pies, dessert casseroles, ice cream-the options are almost endless for this easy recipe! Homemade whipped cream is truly delightful. We daresay every baker worth their salt needs to know how to make it!
This recipe hardly even needs an explanation; only three ingredients and less than five minutes and you’ve got it done!
Now it is worth mentioning that there are two terms when referring to whipped cream that you should know: soft peaks and stiff peaks. These terms describe how firmly the cream holds its shape.
Soft peaks: whipped cream that forms peaks which gently flop over when the whisk is lifted. Typically used for presentation when a soft pillowy look is desired.
Stiff peaks: whipped cream that forms peaks which stand upright and hold their shape when the whisk is lifted. Used for piping or incorporating into other mixtures to make them lighter. Each one has its uses!
