I wish we had a dime for every time we’ve made this for a potluck or a holiday get together! We’d have at least a few dollars, which we would spend on more Mac & Cheese ingredients!
This isn’t the fanciest recipe for mac and cheese, but that’s on purpose! We wanted a recipe that was simple and didn’t require us to go to the store for multiple kinds of specialty cheeses, or go overboard on spices. We love the fact that there’s no roux involved either! Loved by both kids and adults, this Mac & Cheese recipe is simple and delicious. If you bring it to a family gathering or potluck, don’t expect to bring home any leftovers!
Twin Tips:
- Give yourself enough time so that you will have several minutes for it to sit and thicken up at the end. There’s no flour to thicken the cheese sauce, so we really recommend this step!
- Try swapping out the cheddar for a different kind of cheese!
- We love making this in a Dutch oven so that it stays warm while we transfer it or while we’re finishing up the meal
Ingredients:
16oz box macaroni noodles
8oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
8oz Sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups Milk
2 T Butter
Salt/pepper

Directions:
- Bring a pot of water to boil
- Cook pasta for about 10 minutes
- Shred cheddar cheese and cube Velveeta
- Warm milk, butter, and cheeses in a sauce pan
- Whisk periodically until melted
- Drain pasta

7. Add pasta to cheese mixture and stir
8. Add salt and pepper to taste
Happy cheesing,
