Homemade noodles remind us of a time when things were simpler and people moved at a slower pace. Simple and scrumptious, these noodles can be dressed up, added to a recipe, or enjoyed all on their own!
With only two main ingredients and 5-10 minutes of hands-on time, these noodles are the perfect dish to satisfy your carb cravings while making you feel like an accomplished cook at the same time!
Ingredients
- All purpose flour
- Egg
- Salt
- Milk or water
Flour combines with a beaten egg to provide the basis of taste and texture, while salt adds a touch of flavor and the splash of water or milk brings the dough together.
Directions:
- Set a large pot of water on to boil.
- Mix all ingredients together in a medium bowl.
- Flour your workspace and knead your lump of dough until well combined, about one minute.
- Heavily flour your workspace, the rolling pin, and the dough so that nothing sticks. Roll out the dough as thin as you can get it (the shape doesn’t matter), using the flour to make sure it doesn’t stick to the countertop.

5. Using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into whatever shapes you prefer! We generally will cut them into long thin strips.

6. Add to the boiling water and simmer for about three to five minutes until cooked and tender. Enjoy!

Homemade noodles are perfect for adding to soups, building on a veggie and protein bowl, or serving as the star of the show with your favorite tomato or pesto sauce. Cut them into carefree strips or more intricate shapes- this recipe is all about versatility and making it your own. Homemade noodles are often considered too complicated or time consuming to attempt, but we’re here to tell you that nothing could be farther from the truth!
This is a recipe that my now husband and I made together when we were first getting to know each other. It made a great date night activity! ❤️
Happy noodling!
