What’s the first dish that pops into your mind when you think of childhood comfort food? For us, it’s always been a big bowl of mac and cheese…ever since we could pick up a spoon! At Twins at the Table, we’re all about showing you that quality food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sure, there’s a time and place for the classic boxed version we all grew up with, but once you try this creamy, one-pot mac and cheese, you’ll see just how simple (and satisfying) homemade can be. One bite, and you may never look at the boxed stuff the same way again.
Ingredients:
16oz box macaroni noodles
8oz Velveeta cheese, cubed
8oz Sharp cheddar cheese, grated
2 cups Milk
2 T Butter
Salt/pepper

Directions:
- Bring a pot of water to boil
- Cook pasta for about 10 minutes
- Shred cheddar cheese and cube Velveeta
- Warm milk, butter, and cheeses in a sauce pan
- Whisk periodically until melted
- Drain pasta

7. Add pasta to cheese mixture and stir
8. Add salt and pepper to taste
Twin Tip: Once you add the pasta to the melted cheese, the consistency will be runny. Wait a few minutes for the cheese to thicken up before serving.
We serve this dish with a main course meat, as additional side dish, or all by itself! Want to jazz it up? A sprinkle of cayenne, a handful of gooey gruyère, or even a crunchy topping will do the trick. For more tips and full instructions, watch our video tutorial for a step-by-step walk through of this recipe. We hope this dish becomes a staple in your home!
Happy cheesing,
