Sometimes nothing sounds better than a comforting bowl of chicken noodle soup. Our homemade recipe is perfect for when you’re fighting off a cold, caring for someone you love, or if you’re craving a cozy bowl of filling and nutritious soup. This recipe is always the right choice on soup night!

Ingredients:
- 1 medium onion
- 2 stalks celery
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 chicken breast
- 6 cups chicken broth
- 8oz egg noodles or 1 recipe of our homemade noodles
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- Ground black pepper, to taste
Directions:
- Chop the onion and celery, and peel and chop the carrots.
- Add the butter to a large pot over medium heat. Once heated, add the chopped veggies and sauté for about 5-6 minutes.
- Pour in the broth and add the chicken breast and the salt. Bring to a boil. Allow the chicken breast to simmer in the broth until cooked through, about 10 minutes.
- If you’re making homemade noodles, now is the time to make them, while the chicken is cooking.
- Use tongs to remove the chicken breast to a cutting board. Shred or chop the chicken and add back to the pot.
- Add the noodles and cook until tender. Enjoy!

You can keep this dish quick and easy with store-bought noodles, or take it up a notch by making your noodles from scratch. Try our recipe for homemade noodles here!
Either way, you’ll end up with a hot bowl of soup that’s perfect for dinner and even better as leftovers (if it lasts that long)!
Happy souping,
